Set within a number of linked arches by Waterloo train station in the heart of Central London, Azzurro Italian Bar + Kitchen had been trading for over 12 years and was in need of refreshing. With only £30K to spend, the challenge was to identify the key areas where improvement works would give maximum impact. Being such a large unit, it was decided the works should be more ‘installation’ rather than full refurbishment.

With a strong presence from the street, we wanted to improve the visual impact and draw people into the unit with these installations. New lighting was introduced to highlight the strong industrial setting of the arches, whilst contrasting this with a glamorous bespoke seating feature in red leather. A large full height light wall feature was introduced further into the unit to draw visual interest beyond the entrance. Since completion, there has been a marked increase trading.
