Located in a Grade 2 listed former bank in the heart of Sevenoaks, Kent, El Matador is a brand new Spanish/Argentinean Restaurant and Lounge Bar with an eclectic mix of traditional English and Andalusian styles. Spread over two floors, with the Restaurant on the ground and the Lounge Bar on the first, the listed building’s restrictions have actually worked as a great base platform for adding creative style.

With the front section of the building being original, a timeless English style of timber panelling, oak flooring and heritage colours has been offset with a more contemporary feel in the new rear extension building. Having taken inspiration from traditional Andalusian architectural details such as herringbone brick flooring, rendered walls, glazed bricks and white marble, we have created a styled area that contrasts wonderfully with the traditional English elements, all of which link with the focal kitchen and tapas counters.

Also set within the main original section of the building, a contemporary design style has been developed for the Lounge Bar on the first floor, with added wall features of mirrors and artwork. The final results will be stunning.
