Operation. Hotel Chain

Set within the heart of the financial district in Lagos, Nigeria. We have developed the initial design concept of this 160 bed hotel based around the strict brand guidelines for an Ibis Hotel from Accor, and the limited space of the site. As well as the architectural appearance, a large part of the initial task was to maximise the spatial planning of the whole building to not only accommodate the bedrooms, but also the public spaces such as reception, bar, restaurant etc… and the operational requirements.

The overall design of the building is a very crisp style with bold detailing so as to stand out from the surrounding buildings. Ground was broken in early Summer 2010, with works progressing at pace. The basement, which is a rare form of construction in Lagos, first and second floor have been constructed to date with completion programmed for early Summer 2012. As can be seen from the progress photos, some of the key detailing shown in the visuals is already visible at Ground Floor Level.
